What’s up with this movement to remove God and any thing associated with God from America? I have a serious bone to pick and feel now more than ever I need to make clear where I stand with this. I vividly recall the frenzy America was in as we approached year 2000. We even gave it a special name, Y2k. Remember all the computers were supposed to melt down, money would be wiped from all the banks computer systems and I was hoping the lost money would erroneously find its way into my bank account. January 1, 2000 ended up being a regular day and all the extra water/survival rations purchased are probably still stacked in every ones garage.
What Y2k did bring was a faction of people who was determined to remove God from our lives. In 2001 Dr. Pepper introduced a patriotic can donning the Statute of Liberty omitting the words “under God” so as not to offend anyone. In 2002 an Atheist dad made the news headlines when he sued his daughters school district for making her say “under God” while reciting the pledge of allegiance. Since then more haters have come out the closet to join the movement toward a Godless society. The new one dollar coins circulated in 2007 removed the words In God We Trust from the face of the coin to the outer ridge. Next, the words will be completely removed and no one will notice. I was raised in the church and grew up singing gospels as well as patriotic American anthems, all of which have the word God in the lyrics. We are living in a society where murders are rampant, crimes are senseless, terrorist attacks are eminent and pedophiles are repeatedly released back into our community like wolves among sheep, and amidst it all, the umbrella of God is no longer needed???????. Is it just me? Tell me what’s on your mind. Holla at ya Gyrl!
THIS TOPIC REALLY GETS TO MY HEART BECAUSE I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND IT APPEARS THE OLDER THEY GET, GOD WON’T EVEN BE A FACTOR IN AMERICA. IT SICKENS ME, HAVE YOU NOTICED THEY DON’T SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS ANYMORE, IT SAYS HAPPY HOLIDAY’S? THAT IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO BRING GOD INTO OUR HOUSEHOLDS, PARENTS NEED TO TEACH THEIR KIDS ABOUT GOD, READ THE BIBLE, GET UP AND GO TO CHURCH, IF NOT FOR YOU, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE TIME TO BE A HYPROCITE, TAKE THEM CHURCH AND ALLOW THEM TO LEARN ABOUT GOD. DO YOU KNOW DURING THE COLUMBINE KILLING SPREE, THEY WERE WALKING UP TO THE KIDS AND SAYING DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD? AND IF THEY SAID YES, THEY WERE MURDERED. THESE ARE THE TIMES THAT ARE TALKED ABOUT IN REVELATION, SO PREPARE YOUR CHILDREN OR THEY WILL BE PART OF THE TAKE OVER, THESE GOD HATERS WILL DEVOIR (HOPE I SPELLED IT RIGHT) OUR CHILDREN, YOUR OWN CHILDREN WILL TURN AGAINST YOU, DO YOU SEE ALL THESE KIDS KILLING THEIR PARENTS FOR MONEY OR FOR STUPID THINGS, DON’T LET THE WORLD TEACH YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT GOD, WE HAVE TO RISE UP AND LEARN, AND THIS IS FOR BLACK, WHITE, HISPANIC, AND ASIANS, EVERY RACE, BECAUSE WE HAVE TO BE READY, I KNOW ALL THIS IS SO SCARY TO THINK ABOUT , BECAUSE IT SCARES ME , BUT THIS IS REALITY, HOW MANY FAMILIES AS A WHOLE DO YOU SEE GO TO CHURCH, HOW MANY FAMILIES DO YOU SEE PRAY TOGETHER? I like to take it back to basic fundamental truths when addressing this one. Fact #1. According to Genesis, when God created the earth, He intended for the entire earth to be a paradise ruled under Him and for His laws and sovereignty to rule… period. Fact #2. Imperfect human governments and the members of it have been committing offenses against God and His laws clearly stated in the Bible, making their own ideas and thoughts law, instead of God’s. There’s only one of two teams here folks. This plan of the “removal of God” from the government isn’t “new”. God was never there. The government doesn’t want God’s kingdom to rule, the government wants to rule itself and us to it’s own benefit. Scary it is… because satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers to the point where a “patriotic” person supports a bloodthirsty, murderous government (USA) with the same lips they “praise God” with. Scary… scary indeed. Food for thought.
I couldn’t agree more with you. If you have any “legal” information on this, could you let me know. I’m writing a paper on the death penalty which came from earlier laws that began with the Bible. If they are removing God from america, should the principles of law also be removed?
My eyes are open and God is gone out of our lives. We have allowed this to happen how sad are we..
I was watching a Christian program today. They mentioned (among other things) that any references to God or Jesus are being taken out of songs. This really bugs me. As a nation that says they’re free and support tolerance, why do they try to eliminate religion? Yes, there are plenty of religious people who have done wrong, but same with the non-religious. And also, if they’re writing out Biblical references from songs, tv, etc so that people won’t complain, why is it that God and Jesus are now being commonly use as curse words in the media?

yesterday, I was informed that, even when asked, Ministers nor I can use the name of God or Jesus at funeral Services or dedications; When at a Military function. Great world our youth will grow up in NO morals, No boundries, Just Lust, Greed and vanity will be the norm. Nothing left to hold us accountable.
@Tony As the Morals leave our society, everything Immoral is being encouraged. It bothers me that we actually have television shows which glorify teen pregnancy and create a celebrity aura around it.
